A Fond Farewell

We at Colbert UMC wish to extend a fond farewell to Letitia Colglazier, our beloved pianist. Tish has served faithfully for five years, bringing with her a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a firm faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Thank you, Tish, for your years of dedication. You have aided us in worshiping our Lord, and we wish you all the best in the years to come.

About Us

Who We Are

Colbert United Methodist Church is dedicated to the worship of God and to being the hands of feet of Christ in a hurting world.

We are excited to welcome our new pastor, Megan H. Gomez. Megan received her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia and her Masters of Divinity at Emory’s Candler School of Theology.  Megan is married with one child. She is excited to be a part of this community and to work together as the Body of Christ in the world.  Feel free to contact her at megan.gomez@ngumc.net.

Our congregation is multi-generational. There are opportunities for all ages and life stages to become involved through study, outreach and fellowship.

We are committed to outreach into the Colbert community, both on an individual basis and in groups of volunteers. One day a month volunteers plan and host Our Daily Bread at First Baptist Church in Athens, Ga., where they prepare a hot, home-cooked meal for those in need. We also provide meals to students in our local school system through the intheMIDDLEmeals program.  Our church Food Bank is open on regular basis for the benefit of our neighbors and community.  See the church calendar for current information.
