Happening This Week

A Thought and Prayer for the Week…
This is such a busy time of the year. My schedule is full of activities and events. Sometimes I feel like an elf in Santa’s workshop. I haven’t even begun to shop for Christmas. I don’t want think about that right now.
But it is so important that you don’t allow the busyness and chaos of the holiday season to distract you from the good news of Advent. What is that good news? I think Pastor Louie Giglio offers a good perspective,

“The word ‘advent’ means expectation. It is building into our framework of Christmas the confidence that God is going to come through for us.”
Prayer for the Second Week of Advent
Merciful God, who sent your messengers the prophets to
preach repentance and prepare the way for our salvation:
Give us grace to heed their warnings and forsake our sins,
that we may greet with joy the coming of Jesus Christ our
Redeemer; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Happening this Week
Prayer Ministry will meet on Tuesday at 9:30 am.
Craft Club is not meeting this month.
Kids for Christ will meet on Tuesday at 5 pm.
Bible Study will meet this Wednesday at 6 pm at Colbert. We will study session 7 of the Covenant Bible Study.
The United Methodist Women will deliver fruit baskets this Saturday.
Remember God is going to come through for us!
