Join us on Saturday, December 12, 2015 for an Advent Market from 9 am to 3 pm. This will be a great place to do some of your Christmas shopping!
We are accepting vendor reservations to sell gift items. Only handcrafted or new items allowed—no used or yard sale merchandise please. Spaces are $10/table. Here is a brief welcome biography from Rev. Kathy Wilkins Brockman. Rev. Brockton will be coming to serve Colbert and Comer UMC in June.
I am a life-long Methodist and a second career pastor. I graduated from Candler School of Theology in 2013 with a Masters of Divinity and have worked for two years at Oak Grove UMC in Decatur as the assistant to the Senior Pastor. I am currently serving as the pastor of Trinity UMC in Duluth.
In my first career, I worked as an auditor and fraud investigator in the banking and insurance industries. After my children were born, I worked as a “professional volunteer”, a Kindergarten teacher and as a substitute teacher. When I fully discerned God’s call upon my life was to serve in full-time pastoral ministry, I applied to Candler and have been working toward ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.
My husband, Bard, and I have two sons. Our oldest, Ben, just finished his freshman year at UGA. Jonathon is completing his sophomore year at Lakeside High School in Atlanta. Bard works for a law firm in Midtown Atlanta where he concentrates in commercial litigation.
I look forward to getting to know the people of Comer and Colbert and serving with you as we together serve God and God’s people. I am in prayer for an easy transition for us and for Hugh.
Grace and Peace,
